香港バプティスト大学での美術大学交換プログラムを終え、台湾、ネパールでコミッションワークを行った後、ブリストルでイラストレーションの学位を取得するためにイギリスに戻りましたが、他のアーティストと一緒に全く新しい文化の中で生活し、新しいアートワークを作ることのインスピレーションと興奮を再び得たいと思うようになっていました。その結果、ブリストル大学UWE校のイラストレーション学科を卒業後、わずか数ヶ月で日本へ渡ることになる。



シュールレアリスム/シンボリズム・サイケデリアの大型ペインティングやドローイングを制作するハリー・ジョーンズは、旅先で集めた題材やその中での個人的な体験から、多層的な物語性のある作品を制作しています。彼のプロセスは驚くほど無計画で、生々しく、反応的で、彼の潜在意識からストレートに生み出されます。

彼の作品はしばしば、抽象的なひねりを加えたディストピアSFやファンタジーの領域である。最近の作品には、実存主義に関するメッセージが含まれている。


現在、東京・川崎のスタジオ「CHILL」を拠点に活動中。


After finishing a fine art university exchange programme at Hong Kong Baptist University, and then travelling to Taiwan and then Nepal to do a commissioned artwork, returning to England to finish his illustration degree in Bristol only made him long to gain the inspiration and excitement of living and creating new artwork in a whole new culture again alongside other artists. This lead him to Japan, only a few months after graduating in Illustration from Bristol UWE university.

Creating large surrealist/symbolist psychedelia paintings and drawings, Harry Jones makes multi-layered narrative pieces from subject matters collected from his travels, and personal experiences within them. His process is surprisingly un-calculated, raw, reactionary and straight from his sub-conscious.

His work often is in the realm of dystopian science fiction and fantasy with an abstract twist. His more recent works contain messages on existentialism.
